The Morning Call
A civil society organization in Mali, Mali Patriots Group, says it has submitted several million signatures as part of a petition to the Russian embassy in Bamako, Mali’s capital.
The initiative it says aims to solicit Russian military support in light of growing insecurity in northern and central Mali.
The Mali Patriots Group believes that the prevailing insecurity in the country will persist as long as the Malian army is not well trained and equipped with adequate equipment.
It also says that the current Malian forces present in the region do not support the country effectively enough.
